Italian painter. Gioseffo (or Giuseppe) Maria Rolli (or Roli) and his brother Antonio Rolli were Domenico Maria Canuti's pupils despite their differing styles. Gioseffo Rolli mainly followed in Canuti's footsteps as a productive fresco painter assisted by his older brother Antonio, who assumed the role of architecture painter. The brothers painted the ceiling of the Palazzo Pepoli Campogrande in Bologna in c. 1690. The ceiling depicts the glorification of Felsina - Bologna's name in antiquity. //
