Italian painter, a former pupil of Jacopo di Cione, active in the region around Florence. Richard Offner was the first to group together works to form his oeuvre, and Miklos Boskovits continued to add to this group in 1975. The Florentine painter, who derives his notname from an image of the Virgin formerly housed in the Lazzaroni Collection in Paris, appears to have remained heavily influenced by Jacopo di Cione at the beginning of his career before orientating himself more towards the works of painters such as Andrea da Firenze and Cenni di Francesco later on. He painted the frescoes in the Palazzo Comunale di San Miniato in Pisa, dated 1395, together with the latter artist. //
