Details

French sculptor during the reign of King Louis XIV. Laviron was trained and worked in the French Academic system. He won the prize of the Academy in 1676 and 1578, but was never made Academician. He stayed in Rome from 1678 to 1682 at the Académie de France. He worked for the castles of Marly and Versailles (Ganymede, A Philosopher). His last known work is the realization of two vases for Versailles, in 1686. //
