Dutch painter. Though born and raised in Alkmaar, from 1632 on Croos lived and worked mostly in The Hague. He became member of the Guild of St. Luke in The Hague in 1647 and in Alkmaar in 1649. In The Hague he was co-founder of the Confrérie Pictura in 1656. He primarily painted landscapes, influenced by Jan van Goyen. The painter Jacob Theunisz. van der Croos (1632-c. 1690) was probably his son and pupil. //
