Details

Italian painter. He is widely documented in Trino, and his pictorial corpus is homogeneous and consist, despite over forty years of documented activity. His first work as an independent painter was commissioned in 1523 by the Brotherhood of Angels at Trino. In 1534 he worked in Casale where he seems to enjoy a reputation similar to that of Gaudenzio Ferrari. Nothing has remained of his youthful works. The first existing painting securely attributed to him is the so-called Madonna of Fontaneto (1541). In 1543 he signed and dated a Mystic Marriage of St Catherine, now with the Dominican Friars of Trino. The last document regarding his activity is from 1562. //
