Details

French painter and also a designer of textiles, decorative objects, furniture and glassware. He was the second son of Camille Pissarro. He painted in the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist style and became known under the pseudonym of Manzana, the name of his grandmother on his mother's side. In 1889 he moved to London where he attended a school of decoration. His father supported his artistic endeavours. In 1898 he set up a studio in Montmartre, Paris. He exhibited for the first time at the Salon des Indépendants in 1903. After 1906 he turned to an Oriental manner influenced by Persian miniatures and Japanese painting. //
