Italian architect, engineer, and architectural writer. He was mainly active in Vicenza and its environment. He was born in Lacima, near Porlezza, on Lake Lugano, but his family moved to Vicenza in 1696, where his father worked as a bricklayer. Francesco Muttoni was a prolific architect, he designed several palaces in Vicenza (among them the Palazzo Repeta) and villas in the region (among them the Villa Valmarana ai Nani). He is also known for his edition of the Architecture by Andrea Palladio. //
