Giovanni Angelo del Maino was an Italian sculptor, son of Giacomo del Maino, a master woodcarver, who directed one of the most important workshops in Milan. He worked in the family workshop together with his brother Tiburzio, and he gained expertise in carving choir stalls, architectural structures and statues for altars, crucifixes, etc. In 1496 Givanni Angelo and Tiburzio were registered in Milan as master woodcarvers. The family workshop was then transferred to Pavia where they received important commissions for the decoration of the Certosa. His most import works are in the cathedral of Como, and in many churches in Lombardy. //
