German sculptor. His works are typically not signed, they are identified only by stylistic considerations. He acquired citizenship of Füssen in 1499, and a little later moved to Kaufbeuren where he entered the guild, and is mentioned as guild master in 1530-32. Artistically he is rooted in the late Gothic period of Augsburg. After 1507 he had a leading role in Upper Swabian territories. Not only he did work with assistants, but employed full masters from the guild. He ran a large workshop where sculptors, painters and gilders worked for him. //
